How Juicing Healed My Allergy Symptoms

Let me start off with honesty... I haven't always eaten fruits and vegetables. Don't get me wrong, I try to, it's just that I always seem to fail at making them an important part of my meals. So basically, my diet has tended to be unhealthy and horrible. No surprise, I've also had to deal with horrific allergies and chronic inflammation and weight problems.

Sometimes, things get so bad that you reach your breaking point and you are ready to try anything. Well, 5 years ago that's where I was at. I had just moved to the Southeast only to discover that everything here was a trigger. I couldn't breathe, I was constantly breaking out in hives and rashes, and everything about me hurt. One day out of boredom I watched the documentary film Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. Talk about a light bulb moment. I was inspired by Joe's journey and thought if it could work for him surely it could work for me. Suffice it to say, it did. 

While I never technically went on a juice fast, I did replace two meals a day with juice. So I would have a juice for breakfast, a juice for lunch, and then a normal dinner. This was not an easy adjustment to make. The first week I was hungry all the time. On top of that, to be quite honest, juicing feels like a lot of work until you get in the routine. Prepping your fruits and vegetables and cleaning your juicer is a gigantic pain. I kept going though because I was starting to feel a lot better. After about a month of juicing my allergy symptoms were greatly lessened, my blood pressure went from high to normal, and overall I just felt great. If you haven't tried juicing I strongly encourage you to give it a whirl. You don't have to go on a 30 day fast to get benefits. Also, don't let articles about to much sugar freak you out. If you had an unhealthy lifestyle of processed food in the past any fresh fruit and vegetables that you add to your lifestyle will be an amazing improvement. Juice Recipe

2 apples

4 stalks of celery

1 whole lemon

6 carrots

1 big handful of Kale

1 cucumber
